On page 22, there is a picture shown of a ZR1 and a Z06 that belongs to Bruce Melnick...the proud owner that is a retired Astronaut and current member of the Cape Kennedy Corvette Club. You will notice from the picture the licence plates for both cars are the Challenger-Columbia type (go figure! :hehehe
, with the Z06 boasting STS41 and the ZR1 displaying STS49...both Space Shuttle missions that Bruce flew on. Its my understanding the wife drives the Z06...not sure about the ZR1 however...
. Bruce has brought his ZR1 to our club meeting. Its also my understanding that a club member took, and submitted, the photo to the magazine!
And if you ever meet up with Bruce, and happen to have a Corvette handy with you, have your silver or black Sharpee with you too...he'll 'sign' your car! He did mine under the hood along the upper plane near the latch on the '06!! :thumbsup:
