My oldest brother turned me on to the Corvettes back in the 60's when he showed up with a 66 Burgundy vert with a white top, 327, 4 speed. It was 1968 and I was 15 and learning to drive. My brother must have really liked me ALOT to let me drive his vette around the block because I didn't even know what a clutch was back then! My brother eventually sold that vette and many years later got his second vette, a 92, which I never saw or heard him talk about much.
THis past Christmas Day, he calls me and tells me that his wife surprised him with a die cast Z06 along with another box that had Corvette driving shoes. The final box had a card with a gift of a brand new Z06!!! I about fell on the floor but after recovering my tongue drooling over the floor, I asked him what color he was getting. He loves Black on Black and so the FUN begins.
I'm trying to get him to do the Museum Delivery but he doesn't want to drive the vette from Bowling Green to Utah and wanted to Clear Bra the hood before getting to many miles on it.
I have an older brother who really isn't into sports cars as much as we are. If My oldest brother and I can convince him to follow along, we could have some awesome get togethers and autocrosses.
Anyway, I just wanted to share a Christmas story with all of you.:thumbsup:
