Busted in GA

Heading to interstate in Ga in my sons VW GTI, state trooper looks wife dead in eye, and pulls me over.
Window tint is to dark. (I thought it was OK)
I explained son is in Iraq, Im bringing car to Fl for some work, (body kit, wheels) , I could not even get the window down, never driven a VW, he reached in through open door and hit button.
He gave me choice of 200.00 ticket for window tint, or 25.00 for seat belt.(I did have it on)
I was thankful for the break, but thought it was chicken shizzzz.
What does the vette group think ?? , am I over sensitive ??
Yeh I know I never post, hate to with a complaint, but do check forum daily.

IMO the window tint tickets are like you said- chicken shi*. Any time a cop asks me about my tint, I tell them that thats what the shop said was legal darkness, otherwise they wouldnt have tinted the car. Id say you made out pretty good with a 25$ ticket.

Doesn't matter who says it's leagal if it's not. There are alot of things that are legal for "offroad use only" that they will sell you. They do not pay for the ticket so they will tell you what you want to hear so the cash gets into their hands. One of the worst things to say to a police officer is "My brother's friends cousin has a co-worker who's uncle's neighbors mechanic said it was legal so I think your wrong officer". That's a sure fire way to have the officer write the ticket.

In FL it's a $76.50 cite, not $200.00 like it is in GA apparently.

I would say 25.00 is not too bad. I was 35 minutes from being to my cabin in NC and was pull over for a tinted licence plate cover.After they did a good search of my pickup:shrug01: i was told to take off the tinted plate cover and be on your way.:crazy03:

$25.00 and no points. In Ga. I'd take it and run. It's BS but it's the way some states fund thier coffers. And it's cheaper than having to go all the way back to Ga. to fight it

If you're window tint is too dark, prove it and cite you properly and move on.

If you were wearing a seatbelt, why pay for it?

Word to the wise. If you have your windows tinted by a legit shop, get a receipt and pay with a CC. Most legit shops won't give you a receipt with the tint (or a warranty) if it's darker than state law allows. They'll still install it, but don't want thier name associated with it, and most if not all, will have you pay in cash.

On the same line as Z06, unless you know your stuff and know you're squared away, don't F:2232censored:k with the police...you'll lose:thumbsdown:
