Hey guys,
When I acquired my 72 C3 it had no rear window shelf so being the guy that I just naturally am I located one on e-bay and bought it. Then went on the great hunt to acquire the brackets so that I could put one in where (I assumed) one had been removed from.
Well today I attempted that install. According to the AM I should have located rear bracket bolt holes and the bolt holes for the shelf release bracket. I found none. The AM is vague as to the exact positioning of the brackets but using measurements based on the actual shelf with brackets I should have been able to locate them. No luck. So now I'm wondering was the shelf standard on all 72 coupes or maybe an option or dealer install?
The only thing I did find in roughly the correct areas was a single grommet in each bracket area but no additional holes (their should be 4 on each side) and in the shelf release bracket area it doesn't look like their has ever been any hole.
Any insight would be appreciated.
