changing plugs/C5

Last time I changed plugs on a car was years ago, at least on a V8. Mr. AV
did all of the work on my C6 . Since this is an older car, I want to try some maintenance by myself. Are there any ceretain plugs that will be harder to remove than others, like little room or something in the way. All I remember from years ago were bloody knuckles and alot of swear words while changing a few of the plugs. Also any plug and wire suggestions? Pure stock C5. Thanks for any help.

The #7 plug (driver's side to the rear) is pretty tight, so having a socket driver with some joints in it will help. Also plan on replacing the spark plug wires as well, as they often come apart when you remove them. Get some dielectric grease for both the plug threads and the plug wires. Oh, they make a spark plug removal tool (got to get one myself one of these days) that will help to keep you from barking your knuckles when removing those plug wires.

Don't crank down TOO hard when tightening those plugs. Remember you're putting steel threaded plugs into an aluminum head. Could ruin your day to strip the threads on a spark plug hole. I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct torque setting for the plugs....

Good luck!

I let my wife with the small hands do #7, she's participating.

Oh ya, she also changes my turn signal bulbs, has it down to less that a minute. :yesnod:
