I'm moving a little closer to work and found out the place I just rented is to far out for cable provided internet and AT&T, the local phone company, does offer DSL at this location . I'm actually only 4 miles from the city limits, but I guess this stuff happens close to the Ozarks. Curacao said I will have to use either Satellite Internet or Wireless Mobile Broadband. Does anyone have any experience with either of these.

Gee... I miss Florida

I used satellite internet for a while and it SUCKED. In some instances, dial-up was faster..... And everytime a storm came through, heavy clouds would block the signal. The name of the company was StarBand, I believe.

I don't remember where Washington MO is but I had the same problem when I lived in St. Robert/Waynesville for three yrs, and reminds me why I don't live there anymore. :D

I've had both. I was happy with the satellite but the wireless card isn't much good. It's hard to setup a network in the house (you need a special router) and I was with AT&T so if I wasn't connected to 3G it was so damn slow it was almost worthless. The 3G connection depended on my proximity to a tower.
