Corvette: by the numbers...

Here's the latest on Corvette production numbers and other associated factoids! :dancer01:

As of the end of Novermber there is unsupported proof that there is approximately 1,100 2009 Corvettes still on the show room floor around the country...and there are as many as 1,500 2010 Corvette models too. There are around 100 untitled 2008 Corvettes, mostly roadsters, still available as well!! Go figure! :shrug01:

Corvette production numbers from January 1, 2009 through November 28, 2009, show that 6,780 units were built. For the same period in 2008, 29,589 units were built. Draw your own conclusion from these numbers.

Sales of Corvettes from the January 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009, stood at 12,901 Corvettes sold. During the same period for 2008, 25,647 units were sold.

Total 2009 production stood at 16,956...of which 52% were coupes, 20% were convertibles, 20% were Z06's and 8% were ZR1's.

If this trend continues, the 2010 MY will have a lower production rate even lower than 2009!

Yeah, but dealers are still acting like the cars are selling lot hot cakes and not willing to cut deals. Maybe GM will decide to raise the price of the Corvette again to help matters....

Yeah... some of the money I was going to use to buy a new C6 Z06 instead went into rebuilding the drivetrain of my 2002 Z06. The new Z06 was my first choice, but the dealers I talked to evidently wanted to keep the car in the showroom instead. So I obliged them.... Obviously from the stats, this was a widespread reaction that many potential buyers made...

With me retiring my business, it is very unlikely that I will ever be in a position to buy a new Corvette again. That boat has left the dock forever...... :shrug01:
