This spring, if all works out, I would like to take the tour. Can the experienced give me good advice on motels, restaurants, etc. I will be taking my seven year old grandson. Thanks.

I think it's special your taking your grandson.I haven't been since 2003 and i'm sure others will have better news than I.

Took the tour last October and planning to go again same time this year. I stayed at the the Country Hearth Inn (grade: 3 out of 5). This year will try the 1plus year old Super 8 Motel which is 5 minutes away. BTW, if you have time, the Tail of the Dragon is only about 5 hours away in wester NC. Your grandson will get a kick out that as will yourself...

The Holiday Inn on University is very nice and reasonable and about 15-20 minutes from the museum and assembly plant. Around the corner from the hotel is a great rerstaurant called the Montana Grill. The food and ambiance is excellent.
There is a Hampton Inn closer to the museum and a liitle cheaper i think.

Plan on 2 hours for the factory and 1.5-2 hours for the museum. There isn't a deli or food place in either location. If the 7 year old likes cars and such, the time goes quickly. I would bring some snacks and drinks to have between the two tours IMO. Mark

Plant tour

My wife and I are headed that way 9-10. I got on line and purchased our tickets by going on line to the plant. You can then print out your ticket and here is what is says:
Closed toe shoes (NO sandals)
No cameras
No cellphones
No children under 7
No backpacks, purses, fanny packs or other containers may be brought into the plant, except for medical reasons.

If you don't mind staying about 10 miles up the road at exit 38 the Bryce Inn (270-563-5141, is owned by a Corvette couple and the rate is only $53. Those that are closer, Hampton, Baymont etc. are over $100.

Good luck....:dancer01:

Hey Qman, How's it going? Yes My wife and I picked up the MR 07 December 22, 2006 at the museum. It was one of the highlights of my life and I would recommend that you go if the opportunity arises. I will do the museum delivery again when the C7 arrives in a few years.

We had a blast at the museum. Took one serious trip through, then went back and had some fun..:hehehe: Have a good time
