Could it be my alternator?

Suicide King

I was driving the Vette today and all of the sudden the gauges started acting like as if I just turned the key. It did this for a few miles. All the gauges kept resetting until I turned off the car. Then I tried to start it again and it was dead as dead. The radio wouldn’t even come on. The passenger side where the BCM was making a buzzing noise and it wouldn’t stop until I turn the key.
After about 20 mins the car started up and I drove it home fine. The amp gauge was just over 13 amps. The battery and alt are a year old.. Could this be the alternator, a bad ground or maybe the BCM?

I think I would check the grounds as well as the cabling going to the battery and alternator. Wouldn't hurt to just pull everything off and inspect it. I had a problem a while back with a loose or corroded lead on the starter giving me fits for a while. Caused the voltage gauge to fluctuate and wouldn't start intermittently, much like you have described.

Good luck!

Run the codes on it!!And post them, all of them History and All!!
