He will be racing Toyota's in 08!

In his press release he stated the #1 reason for signing with Waltrips Toyota team was, "honestly I am just tired of working on Sunday"

:lmao:

Good one!

I was about to reply that maybe with Jr., Toyota will have a half chance of racing on Sunday.

Junebug is throwing a smoke screen out there for everyone,, my opinion, hes headed to RCR. Richard always has said only an Earnhardt will drive the 3 car..Just think of the marketing this would bring..LOL lots of dollars..

Yes ,but RCR and DEI are to joint venture engines.Next step is merge the two companys .Which could mean Jr driving five tears down the road for DEI again.:crazy03:

your right on the engine merger deal, and you know, if RCR and DEI merge, {which they should} but, JR. needs a championship, if only one, and with DEI and Theresa at the helm, not going to happen. I think he's realized that he aint getting any younger, and he ain't the driver that his daddy was, but with a single championship he should quiet the critics. Racing these days are a lot different from days of past, closer competition, better technology for all..We shall see. Maybe there is a chance that Michael Waltrip will give up the toyota deal since they can't make a race, and befriend Theresa for a ride with DEI again? Crazy stuff happens.. Be well...

 This weekend is all about Danica and Tony. But I always root for Jr. to do well.

Danica could drive a soap box derby racer and I'd be there to cheer her on.

  :rofl1:

And i'd be next to ya .She really has a lot of talent.

So I dont feel I've high jacked this tread,Mikey will have to do something as he'll never qualify for a NASCAR race.Maybe he could be the water boy for Jr.

He can sit next to his Brother in the announcer booth, thats about all he's going to be capable of doing with the Toyo thing he's got going now.. That's one of the reasons I think eventually he will go back to DEI and befriend Theresa. we shall see...LOL

be well

A bit off track but....

If Toyota has been so strong in Craftsman truck why such a poor start in NASCAR? Is it because NASCAR has imposed unspoken restrictions on the Toyotas?

As announced by Toyo, before the race they changed the power curve on the motors, somehow allowing the motors more produced torque at low RPMS along with keeping the top end speeds needed. I think maybe it was a combination of NASCAR rules and Toyo motor specs, maybe?

This is going to be slammed, but Jr. has done next to nothing in Nascar, his fan base is just the remains of daddy. Would love to see in a car that he would have to drive.

I'm a cold hard Tony fan .But if you go to any race it's 60% Jr. fans and I agree his father has a lot to do with it.But I also like him because he's a gentleman and I think a lot of people feel that way.Honestly I think he's a good driver but not a great one ,but no matter what he has a large fan base and probibly will if he never wins another race. I wish him luck

Wouldn't surprise me if Jr. took over for Waltrip at Toyota and Waltrip goes back to DEI. It would be a tough pill for Michael to swallow.
:shrug01: :wavey:
