Just got this on a Vietnam Vets forum I belong to. I don't know if it's true or not, but if you ride a motorcycle in Florida, you MAY want to check it out.

Florida HB 137 Motorcycle Seizure Bill -
The State of Florida is attempting to get tough on motorcyclists riding recklessly, with the introduction of a new bill in the State House of Representatives.
HB137 2008 specifies that if a law enforcement officer charges a person with reckless driving, or driving 30mph over the speed limit, and who was riding a motorcycle at the time, the officer must arrest the rider, take him or her into custody, and seize the motorcycle, which will be subject to forfeiture under Florida's Contraband Forfeiture Act. (Note that you don't have to be convicted for this to take place).
If that person is convicted, the court will order the Department of Motor Vehicles to revoke their motorcycle endorsement, but still allow them to drive a car
If the bill is signed into law, it will take effect October 1, 2008.
I urge you to contact your local representatives, and make sure this bill is defeated. This is a blatant attack on motorcyclists, and doesn't affect drivers or cars, trucks, 4 wheelers or anything else. Just bikes. There are a lot of rural roads in Florida where the speed limit changes from 65 to 35 when entering a small town, so don't let the Man get your ride!
