C5 Factory fog light Q

I am considering adding factory C5 fog lights. Several Q arise. Are their factory bases locations that are just not used if your Vette has no fog lights? Is the electrical pig tailed out (also) just not used? And lastly is the wiring harness in place and not used where I will have to add the trunk/fog light face plate?

I would particulary like to hear from someone who has made this apparently simple modification.
