At present I have Fel-Pro VS50388R valve cover gaskets. They are designed for 1991-2000 GMC truck with a 454. They fit my 502 valve covers. Said valve covers have the channel that the rubber gasket sits in. They are not the stock cork 454 gaskets. The problem I have is that I have one area on the right bank back near the bell housing that does not seal well. Have gone through 2 sets of gaskets and all surfaces are clean and smooth but the leak remains. What I need is the same gasket in an oversized (meaning thicker) configuration.
Can anyone tell me of a way to find such a thing or such a part number. Ordered a set that sounded correct from Summit only to get a set of original configuration extra thick cork.
I could care less about brand just want a set that do the job. Oh BTW I have checked with the local parts stores and am still coming up empty.
