Welcome to the site Jim.

I don't know of any in Florida, but I have seen them in other parts of the country. Here is a plate from Idaho. And some info on how it came to be.

I've also seen a Corvette club license plate in Maryland, I believe.

Of course Kentucky has the NCM plate.

Somebody should do that here in Florida. I know there is a lot of red tape involved.

Scott

I thought that you could go to the drivers licence place (whatever it's called) and if you have a certain amont of orders (25+ ?) that any special plate could be made up. Not sure where I heard that information, but maybe worth checking out.

You're right! I was just on their site and there are like 50 plates just for the letter C! Here are two Vette plates from the NCCC and a Corvette club.

Come to think of it, I was in Tennessee in July and saw something that just didn't compute. You know how in Florida we have a lot of different college plates from around the state? In Tennesee, volunteer country, you can actually get a Tennessee plate with the University of Florida, or Georgia, or Alabama, Auburn, etc. That just amazes me that they would promote a college from another state!

thanks for the replies, it sounds like its quite involved to get it done, maybe more than I can handle but I would buy one in a minute as would many other vette people would if it was out there :)

I like it!

Sounds like something that maybe a Corvette Club or all of the Corvette Clubs should look into. Power in numbers!

:iagree: A Florida plate would be really nice. Hopefully it would be good looking and not something that looks like it should be on a clown car.

Madness,

You are right, Maryland does have specialty plates for various types of clubs. I posted this plate in another thread on our site not long ago, but here is the current plate on my '01 vert. This plate is for the Bel Air Corvette Club (about 20 minutes north of Baltimore). I have been with this club since 1989, I think? I was hoping that Florida had similar arrangements, but it does not appear so.

A Florida Corvette plate would be cool. Did you happen to read the 17 pages of Procedure RS-20 from the HSMV link? :banghead: Who's got the 60k for the application fee? We'll have to pass around a hat at the shows!

60K!! Well let's see, we have 703 registered members right now, so that works out to just under $86 each. But in reality probably only around 1 percent (or 7 members) would actually pony up, so that puts the bill at $8,572 each. :ack2:

Yeah, THAT will fly...................

Yeah, no offense Rich. If I had an extra $8,572 layin' around, I'd probably slap a supercharger on my car. Or heads and cam, then tinker with the drive shaft. Get it down to the $86 and I'm in. :lmao:

I have to read this RS-20 thing at lunch. You also have to ensure a minimum of 1000 average active registrations each year. Plus a charity to benefit from the charges. I don't think the home for way-word Hooters waitresses would cut it. :D
