Former NASCAR racer jailed after high-speed chase in '03 Corvette

This article shows why he is a "former" NASCAR driver. He blew up the engine on the 2003 Vette which does not happen very often.

I would have to disagree with this quote from the story:

"You drive any car that far, about 50 miles, and that fast, it'll blow up because it's not built for that," Amormino said.

He just sucked is all, there is no reason 140 mph should hurt a C5 Vette if it is maintained on a normal schedule.

140 mph is certainly well under the top speed thresh hold. Doesn't make any sense to me either unless he was holding it in lower gear and above redline. :shrug01:

The C6 Z06 hits 60 in first gear. I've been up over 100 in third gear as well. :hehehe:
