general question on vettes

I know that the early to mid 60 vettes had the solid top coupes but am looking for info on what other years may have them. I am not looking for the targa model since I think in this area even with the smoked top they would make the inside a little warm not to mention having to store them when removed. Thanks

I'm by no means an expert on 'vettes but I can speak from my personal experience. I know the 2001 and later ZO6's are fixed roof coupes. Beyond that...:shrug01:

I believe there was actually a 1999 model called the Fixed Roof Coup (FRC) that was the precursor to the Z06 in 2001.

As far as true "targa" tops (one piece), those started in 84 and carry though all of the coupes to present. You don't always have to have the smoky acrylic/lexan tops. There are some that are body color and solid. So you have the look of a fixed roof with the ability to remove it on nice fall/winter/spring days. Storage isn't an issue, because they are meant to be placed in the rear compartment.

This will keep your options more open and allow for some less expensive choices, as C5/C6 Z06's are a little spendy.
