= $1 a Gallon Fuel?

"In addition, the Coskata process has the potential to yield over 100 gallons of ethanol per ton of dry carbonaceous input material"

That's 800 lbs of fuel from 2000 lbs of "input material". I'm skeptical.

Same here. Im kind of in the boat that believes if it were truly better, we'd already be using it.

There just isn't as much money in it for politicians and the like to have produced this any sooner. Now, these people have to worry about their jobs and such with gas going through the roof. It's now in their interest to stop blocking these fuel advances. We should have had ethanol years ago.

Our politicians need to stop pandering to the enviromental fanatics and capitalize on our own surplus of oil we have here in the states and surrounding areas. Build more oil refineries (its been 30 some years since the last one was built), drill for our own oil, while in the mean time search for future sources of power.

Putting our food supply in competition with our power supply is not the way to go. Ethanol is something like 70-80% less efficient than fossil fuel.
