Go Team USA!

Road Trip!
I know this is not Corvette related and some of you may not give a hoot, but for those of you that follow the Olympics, I think we have a great group of athletes representing this great nation of ours and no matter how many times I hear the Star Spangled Banner, it still gives me shivers.

And like Yakov Smirnoff the comedian used to say, "America, What a Country"

For those Olympic junkies out there, which has been the highlight of this event for you?

Highlights; Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Michael Phelps, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh just for the ones off the top of my head.

Great group, awesome games.

I watch all I can get.

It has to be Michael Phelps. Besides his 8 gold medals and 7 world records, he is from Towson, Maryland (just north of Baltimore), which is not only very close to my home town but also the location of my college days. I'm a graduate of Towson State University.

But, I also have to put in a vote for May/Walsh. Those two are unbelievable in beach volleyball. Besides their skills, with those skimpy outfits and diving in the sand all the time, they have to be getting sand in places that were never designed to have sand! ...Ouch, ...ouch, ...ouch! Yet, you never see it affect them. Amazing! :yesnod:

Wow Ken, Took the words right out of my mouth. I totally agree. Beach volleyball finals tonight- Go USA. Shawn is from my wife's home town of Des Moines, Iowa. Glad to see her get her Gold medal finally. Nastia got a bum rap the other night with her Silver. She was tied with the Chinese girl and should have shared the Gold with her instead of insulting the performance with eliminating the scores until one was higher. So what happens if two athletes run the 100 meters and tie? Do you go back to their previous runs and see who ran the fastest during the heats? I don't think so!!!! :shrug01:
Anyway they say in New Orleans- GEAUX USA!!!!:thumbsup:

To clarify somethings:

To C5Rick
A) Beach volleyball, actually volleyball in general is only a sport when women are playing.

To Thor
B) The Chinese are cheaters.....period. They always have been, always will be. I can't believe anyone expected anything more?! Everyone knows those girls are underage. Come on! So let those communist devils have their precious medals!

To Z06 Rocket
C) Hell yeah! Unlike Badminton! WTF?!!!! Badminton?!!!! I mean at least in BMX racing you got like ten guys striving for one prize where at anytime a wrong move can break a leg, maybe paralize some dude....you know an element of danger. But Badminton? WTF?!!!! What's gonna happen....shuttlecock in the eye? Slip and fall on the floor? Again, WTF?!!!!
Yet they are killing baseball/softball. WTF?!!!!!

To Kap142
D) Hell no!!! Rick in a bikini? Definitly one of Mr. Blue's photoshoot girls but Rick? Here's another, WTF?!!!!!!!!

and lastly to Als2052
E) Both you and Yakov Smirnoff are wrong. America is NOT a country. It is a continent. The UNITED STATES of AMERICA is a country and I can't wait to see the Redeem Team bring the gold back where it belongs.....to the U.S. of A!!!!!!!!!:usa_flag:

I saw Michael Phelps win and break a record while on break at work. I have to admit, I was surprised. Whenever I think of competitive swimming, I remember when I saw Fantasia as a little kid and picture cartoon hippos and alligators swimming in circles... don't ask me why. :rofl1:

But I have to say that that one was pretty intense, it almost made me interested in the Olympics. Dare I say... exciting? Nah, best not to. :)

Eh, I added the Z to the stable when I was 16. Still got them both, plus some other sports cars that I don't really need. Love them both, though I won't deny that the Z's interior is 1000 times better than the vette's... mainly due to the dash.

Sports cars are much more affordable though when you don't really have any attachments. :dancer01:

Got that right! However, no way in hell was my Z31's interior better then my C5's. C4........maybe but not C5. You are right about affordability. Biggest reason I don't have kids. Not to mention childseats and two-seaters don't go together.:reddevil:
