Help near Homosassa

retgi

New member
I've been troubleshooting HVAC system in my 79' for a few days now with no luck. AC works fine but only getting cold air out driver's side floor vent. I have books, CD's, diagrams, mighty vac, etc. but I'm obviously not smart enough to figure it out. So, can someone recommend a good repair shop near Homosassa, Spring Hill, Brooksville area for this problem? If not there, then I can work my way down to Hudson, New Port Richey, etc.. thanks

I'm not sure how it is in the older vettes, but in the newer ones, there is a whole series of "doors" and accompanying actuators, any of which that can fail on you, that direct the flow of air. NONE of them are easy to get to. And no one likes digging around in the dash of these cars to fix this sort of thing.

I had an actuator go out in my C5Z that was only allowing air flow to the driver's side, so it sounds like a pretty similar problem.

Can't help with your HVAC issue (even if I knew where Homosassa was) ;) but I'm sure someone will chime in shortly with some good advice.

True. I'll attempt tackling most anything on this old car except engine/transmission tear down. Now this ventilation issue has me stumped so thought I'd try a garage and hope they know what they're doing because I certainly don't.

If it was my car, I'd take it to Dirk's Auto Clinic in Crystal River. See Clay, the owner - very knowledgable when it comes to Corvettes. He did all the work on my C5.
