• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

HEY!

Did I suffer a stroke or something? Did you change the colors? I was just getting used to the black and red....But these are "softer" on the eye. I like blue and white.

From Rich z's thread...
I'm doing some changes with the DNS info for this site to try to speed things up. If anything strange happens, it's probably just me doing it, and hopefully it won't be too long before I get the problem ironed out.....

it still doesn't seem any faster yet!!

Hey Pres,

You might want to read the posts in the Feedback section. Rich has a Guru checking things out to try and improve the speed on the site. I am assuming that the change in color has something to do with what they are working on.

Personally, these old eyes of mine prefer the old colors, but will live with anything if it improves the performance of the site. Today my experience is that the site is much improved.

Speed and New Format

It must be me or I have the fastest server in the Forum. This site now "screams" on speed on load ups and changing forums. It's hard for a webmaster to judge the speed of its server to its members, since some are dial-up, fibre optic and T-1 etc. That is also assuming they are using a good ISP service, which is unlimited. To help Rich...we are on fibre optic (T-1) with are own server via "FIOS". The site loads on a scale from 1 to 10, at a rate of 9. Good job Rich!!!!

The new color layout shocked me at first, but I have learned to like it. We just have to avoid a few colors in our posts like "yellow and "green"....it's difficult to read!!

 Good job Rich!!!!

YELLOW
GREEN

I thought I went to the wrong site when I first came on this morning. I have three other forums that are exactly the same as this one so I'm used to the arrangement and colors. The speed seems fine to me. When I first brought it up the forum was bigger than my settings and had to use the slide at the bottom to read the whole post, but everything jumped back into place and it fits my screen perfectly now.

I like it.

Yeah, this may just be temporary. Trying to nail down the problem and figured removing the custom skin I was using with the previous color scheme was a good place to start. This one you are looking at now is the plain vanilla default color scheme that comes with the software for this message board.

I know it gets some people disoriented with color changes, but I felt it necessary to do at this point.

I like the default color scheme personally but the site loads like molasses on a cold tallahassee morning:D

Might have something to do with using Bright house!!!!!

I;ll try my Sprint air card later. Think I;m gonna switch everything over to Verizon!

Interesting that this issue may be ISP specific. I know Comcast has severe lag problems with some of their routers. I've documented it and tried to have them address it, but it's like talking to demented box turtles. Not only are they slow to respond, but when they do, their responses just don't make any sense.

I'm on Bright House's Earthlink high speed cable and your site's working just fine. Fast access and responds to page changes instantly.
