I cannot upload images

I am trying to upload some pictures to my member photo gallery and I get the following error message;

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 31457280 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 12288 bytes) in /home/corvette/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 84"

At first I thought it was the size of the photo so I cropped it from 3 mg to 1 meg. I still get this message. Am I doing something wrong?

:D Follow up to my OP - :D

The problem seemed to resolve itself as soon as the forum website server was changed. I thought I would share that in the event anyone else might have had a similar situation.
