Ideas on battery jumper box

Well, I've always used the AC plug in type of battery charger/starter. Although I do have a battery pack style (I believe it is made by Stanley also), but never had a reason to use it, as it stays in the garage. It also comes with an air compressor, which is the real reason I bought it. Battery powered air compressors are just real convenient to have around.

I have an old Schauer battery charger that I bought in the 80's. It has a boost feature that activates when you try to start the car. Still works great, I probably paid around $30 for it back then.

I have an electric battery "charger"- with a "start" feature, but I am looking for a portable battery "jumper". One that is made for jumping, not charging.

Well, what about the one you had previously? Were you happy with it before it gave up the ghost?

Curious about how much use you get out of something like this. If I even suspect one of my batteries in my vehicles is going bad, I just replace it.

I hate Sears but I bought one similar (craftsmen )

Store my vett near the Orlando airport in a self storage unit that has no electricity .I disconnect the battery but I'm still paranoid about not being able to start the car at 2 am .Having said that there is a nice Cuban lady in unit 380 that cooks a great breakfast .

I never used it myself but one of my neighbors stores a Mustang that needed a boost and it worked great .

I used to buy the Craftsman battery powered air compressors till the last few of them only lasted about a year. The batteries in them would stop holding a charge then. So I went onto another brand.

Heck, I never liked Diehard car batteries neither. I've had several over the years and they certainly lived up to their name each time. Without any warning, they would just DIE....HARD.

I figured battery technology changed since I got this one. I was hoping for some suggestions from someone who may have purchased one recently.

I just checked on the one I bought from Sam's Club not that long ago and it's a Stanley FatMax 450 amp model. Like I said, I bought it primarily for the air pump capability. So far it's held the charge for quite a while, but I have never tried the battery jump capability.

Yeah, when I bought my FatMax at Sam's the cashier said they had sold a LOT of them. I guess Stanley was clearing out stock for the newer 500 amp model.

Hopefully the newer ones aren't made cheaper. One thing I noted about those Craftsman battery compressors I spoke of was that the sharp drop in quality seemed to be coincident with the manufacturing moving from USA to Mexico.
