If you could have any corvette

road pilot

New member
Thanksgiving has pasted and we all can count our blessings.
Now Christmas time is soon and our dreams start to fill our
minds with things we would like and most things we don't
really need.
Our dreams swirl around us and my dreams soon fall upon this
one want.
If I could have any corvette in brand new condition what would
that vette be??? Without a doubt it would be a 67 427/435 hp
vette with ps,ac,side-pipes and no knock-off wheels. White
with a saddle interior, or the light blue with black interior.
OH well, what a dream for me .
If you could have any corvette produced in new condition, what
corvette would your dream vette be?????????????
There is no right or wrong answer but I would like to hear your
choice and what kind of vette you have now.
Oh yea I have a blown Y2K vette right now.

Well.........if wishes came true..............

I just wish I could have the one that got away! In 1979 I was stationed in Mountainview, Ca. (NAS Moffett Field, Ca.) Me and my buddy, Dan, were always working on cars...mine, his, or somebodys. A Yeoman Chief in our squadron asked us if we would be interested in rebuilding the engine in his 63 Vette. Of course we would...The car was a split window coupe that had been mildly customized. It was a 327 fuelie car with the Wonderbar radio, side pipes, automatic, with the original black interior with a metallic maroon paintjob on the outside. The headlights had been moved down into the custom tube grille, and it had deep dish mags all around with 50 series tires on the back and custom fender flares on all four corners. After we did the rebuild we drove it around town for a week or so to break it in. Man, talk about turning heads! And a VERY fun car to drive. Shortly after returning the car to the owner(who also had a 59 Vette that was his daily driver) he asks us if we know anyone who would like to buy it. It turns out that he was retiring from the Navy and moving back home to Michigan and he had bought his wife a 1970 LT1 Vette to replace the 63 that she had been driving, and he didn't want to pay to ship the car home. I asked him what he wanted for it and he told me he would let me have it for $4200.00. I had just bought a four wheel drive truck for about the same price and couldn't afford another car payment at the time!@#$%^&. I don't have to tell anybody here what those cars are worth today! Not that I would have ever sold it, but, oh well, I'll never know....:shrug01:

My dream 'vette would be a '69 ZL1 (not likely to happen).:nonod: Current 'vette is an '02 ZO6.:yesnod:

I agree, as far as I know there was two in existance, but I have only seen one. Going back to Winter Haven show, when Zora Duntov was still alive. It was a yellow 69 ZL1...That car was awsome...Some people were saying it's the only one left, but who knows...In a good market that car IMHO would fetch close to 1 million...:crazy03:

I would like to have one of each generation starting with a 1953, 1963 split window, 1972 big block, 1988, 1999, 2010 GS. :dancer01::dancer01::thumbsup:

Like LEJ Z06, I already have mine, a stock 2005 machine silver coupe...no plan to get anything else until C7 comes out...

Mark, If quantity were not an issue, I would go for "the Sevens"
1957 - C1
1967 - C2
1977 - C3
1987 - C4
1997 - C5
2007 - C6
That's the ONLY number that's common to all 6 generations, and is truly one of my fantasies.

Heck, I'll be tickled pink just to have mine BACK. It will be almost like having a new car anyway....

Wanted any vette?

1969, Monoco Orange, black standard interior, black ragtop, body colored hard top installed, 390 HP 427, heavy duty cooling, wide ratio 4 speed, 3:70 rear gears, good set of track radials on stock wheels, thicker front sway bar, radio/heater delete, cold air hood, (L88 style).
Enough money to have fun at any track that is open.
Pack of smokes and a hot babe in the pits.
Life was good.

you can get one

Motor, $25,000. Body, complete and rolling, $25,000.
Less than a new one. So, don't wish, mortage the house and wife and kids, pick up some young chippy and head to the beach.
SURE you will. :)
