How hard is it to ad original equipment PS to a non PS 72? Was also wondering if the upgrade to quality brake system on a non PB big block 72 would improve brakeing quality?

Ken:D :D

The original C3 power steering is not exceptionally difficult to do. I really don't care for the original stuff as it has a tendency to leak.....let me restate that, it absolutely loves to leak. There is a power rack and pinion setup available. It is a bolt on, so the car can be returned to stock at some point. As far as power brakes, your stopping will not be improved, you will merely have to use less input to get the same stopping power.

OK Cool

Thanks for the response.

Alright let me research the rack and pinion set up, I hate leaks. Also (because I don't know) are non power brakes on a BB adequate to handle stopping the vehicle effectively?

Thanks,

Ken;) ;) ;)

I really don't mean to be a smart ass, but L-88 vettes had manual brakes. Power vs. manual brakes is not really a question of stopping power, but a question of pedal effort put in by your leg. The calipers and rotors are where the stopping force comes from. The C3 calipers and rotors are all the same size regardless of power or manual braking. If it were my car, i would definately use power brakes. The Power rack and pinion steering conversion is called STEEROIDS by the way. Just do a search an I am sure that you will find it quickly.

What's life without just a little.......

SA. No seriously, I appreciate all feed back. It's my way of gaining knowledge.

Took a drive to Stuart a few days ago and looked at a 72 coupe. Unfortunately it was a rag, I mean a rag!

Will travel to the Alabama area late this week to look at the 72 BB I have been asking questions about. You guys make me a little better armed and I thank you.
