Knightdale, N.C. — A Knightdale man is accused of setting his 1996 Chevrolet Corvette on fire.
According to Raleigh and Wake Forest police, Phillip Glenn Tingen, 37, of 111 Woods Run, torched his Corvette to defraud Allstate Insurance.
The arrest warrant says that Tingen falsely reported his car stolen from the parking lot of the Bahama Breeze restaurant, 3309 Wake Forest Road, on Sept. 3. The car was later found burned.
Tingen was charged with burning personal property.
Tingen was being held in the Wake County Jail under an $11,000 bond. He is due in court Monday.
