Love bugs!

Yeah, those pests are showing up around here. Not sure how widespread, but I hit (literally) them between Crawfordville and Tallahassee. Only about an hour and a half on the road and the ones on the front of my car were like they were cemented there.

I think this is a bit early for them. I thought it was more like October or so when they would typically show up in the Fall swarm.

They started showing up around here last Tuesday. They're not too bad yet, but I agree, it's a bit early for them. One more sign that points to a hard winter. Our Sycamore trees are shedding their leaves already too, as well as the fig tree. :shrug01:

"We predict that real winter weather will return to areas from the Great Lakes into the Northeast. Most eastern states – as far south as the Gulf Coast – will see snowier than normal conditions and cooler temperatures."

Taken from the 2013 Farmers Almanac.....:nonod:

Well I CERTAINLY don't ever want to see snow again! I can do without that crap.

If you only saw one, then that was one of them loveless bugs, instead of a love bug. :hehehe:

They're getting bad here in Tallahassee. Hopefully they will be gone in about two weeks. I think I'll leave the CTS V in the garage and drive my truck until they're gone. Not that the truck is any easier to wash. :shrug01:

Just got back from a stay on Cape San Blas and the love bugs are out around Port St. Joe and Apalachicola too. Had to clean off the front of the C6Z at every stop we made. They get to be like concrete to get off the paint surface when they bake in the sun while driving for as little as an hour.

We saw other vehicles with the fronts virtually covered with dead love bugs that apparently found heavier concentrations of them somewhere.

I've heard of people spraying Pam cooking spray on the front of their cars before they drive so they don't stick. Not sure if it's worth all that. You'll still have to clean a mess off your car. Might be easier though.
