MPG gauge oddity

I turned off my Z this morning and forgot I wanted to check my current MPG average. I turned the key to the on position and I hit the fuel button. For some reason, the instant mileage climbed all the way to 99.0 MPG as I sat there. I then hit the button again and the miles left for the tank actually climbed as well. The car was not even running. :confused:

Anyone see anything like this before?
