I just inherited a ’84 Corvette from my father’s estate. It has 33k actual miles and has been stored for over ten years. It was just shipped down to me and I am now looking for a mechanic to 1) check all the mechanicals and 2) replace the carpeting. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I agree with Ms. Extreme.

There's also, just a little closer, a guy that knows vettes inside and out. He WILL NOT (PER HIS OWN WORDS) do any more hi performance mods, but when it comes to routine maintenance, and going over the car from stem to stern for problems, he's good.

Andreh Alito, Insty Tune and Lube on North Dale Mabry just south of Bearss about a block (next to the tire kingdom).

For anything other than "routine maintenance", I'd go elsewhere, such as Greg or Tracy at AntiVenom or Rev-Xtreme (respectively).

They also have a little get together of vettes every Saturday eveing starting about 5 pm and going until 7-8. From there, it's to who knows where?

Insty Tune is about 15 minutes from you depending on where in Wesley Chapel you're located.

Anti-Venom is close as well, being not too far off the interstate (I75) and MLK.

Rev-Xtreme is south in the Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Thank you both for the input! I really appreciate it since this is more than a mear car to me. An acquaintance also mentioned Mark DeFrancisco of Sun-Mark in Lutz as being Vette competent. Any input on his organization?
 
Heard the name but know absolutely nothing about his work...sorry:(

When I had mine, I only let Greg (Anti Venom) and Andreh (Insty tune) work on mine:thumbsup:

Would have let Tracy at Rx but they're too far from me (I'm in Citrus Park).
 
Auto XTC in Pinellas Park is excellent also. Larry French is the owner. John Wilson is his one and only awesome Corvette technician. Phone is 727-573-1292. Their place is so clean, you could eat off the floor.
The others mentioned also have good reputations and stand by their work. Good luck with your restoration and :welcome: to Corvette Florida. :thumbsup:
