Need some help from the Corvette brotherhood!

I was wondering if anyone could help with this one. My car's check engine light is always on.

I ran the codes and it appears it's the o2 sensors. I have replaced the front two and reset the codes. All seemed fine that day and bang, there is the damn check engine light again. Same problem. Should I now replace the rear two or is it something I will have to live with considering I have a Flowtech exhaust with no cats?

Also, I changed my blown driver's side turn signal with a new bulb and it's still not working. Does anyone think I will have to change the turn signal unit altogether?

the codes will tell you witch one of the 4 is bad . fuel mix and also bad cats (not pussy cats) can cause 02 sensors to fail . the heat from the day time running lights over time crack the top of the lamp housing , this lets water in and blows the bulb . good luck

That error code might actually be telling you of a bad catalytic converter if it's a rear sensor yelping.

I get those kinds of errors fairly often, especially at low speed on my C5Z, but headers and aftermarket cats will often cause this to happen and I just don't worry about it.

Yeah, the bulb was bad and I replaced it with a good one. It still doesn't work though.

Passenger side works fine. Not sure if there is a fuse somewhere that maybe blown but I would assume that if that was the case, both would not work, not just one. I guess I will have to hit it with a volt meter to see if the socket is bad.

As far as I know, I don't think my year will be able to tune the o2s out. I think it was only possible from 01 up. How will I know from the code which sensor it is? I know for sure it can't be the two fronts so.........any ideas?:shrug01:

Sorry guys, I found the sticky that says but I have to ask which side is A and which side is B?

Also, not to sound stupid but what's the Powertrain Control Module? I think I remember seeing that code.

A is the drivers side. The pcm lives under the battery. the pig tail for that lamp is most likely bad. If the battery has leaked it can cause kaos. good luck

Most of the time the socket goes bad in the turn lamps, we have a Z06 getting new ones right now.

And Ive seen that battery leaking couse major issues:ack2:

Yeah, one of the first things I did after reading about that particular problem was to get a gel type battery to replace the lead/acid one that was in my C5Z. It sounded like a major pain in the buttocks to have to go through...

Thanks for the advise guys. I'm going to check out the battery tomorrow.

Now, is the PCM the same as the ECM? Is it located under the battery?

Ok, this is weird, but great. Turn signal, started working on it's own:D

I still need an answer if the PCM is the same as the ECM and if it's located under the battery. Thanks again.

Well, I thought I knew, but now I'm not sure. I thought ECM and PCM stood for basically the same thing and were different names for the same module. ECM = Electronic Control Module, and PCM = Power Control Module. I've also heard it referred to as the ECU = Electronic Control Unit.

But whatever it is called, yes, it is the electronic gizmo located underneath the battery.....

Subject to correction by someone more knowledgeable, of course....

Awesome! I took a look at it and all "looks" well. Hmmmm, not sure. I'll run the codes again and make sure if they are "H" or "C".
