Hello all. i am new to this forum and hopefully will gain some info on buying a corvette in the not to distant future..:dancer01:
I currently live in Fla. new york. small village outside the city 75 miles.
I ride my 07 HD as often as i can.
I am selling my n.y. home as soon as someone buys it..hahah
and moving to Florida, florida...tampa area near big bend road in riverview area.
I hope to get a corvette as time and dough will permit..
hope to chat with ya soon,,ryd..

Welcome aboard! :welcome: Florida is a great state to own a Corvette in. All kinds of scenic areas to explore, and if you can dodge the rainstorms, the weather is just GREAT!

coupe question?

On the corvettes with the removeable roof, how difficult is it to take off and put back on? 1 person or 2 to install? when it rains etc...:) thanks

:welcome: to the Forum. I have a convertible 07 and can't really answer your question but I'm sure others will pipe in to help. The convertible tops are now automatic unless you order the manual top in C6 07-current.

YAY !!! A NEW MEMBER !!!

:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:

Make sure you do your research extensively when it comes to what vette you get and who you let work on it !! There are lots of reputable shops out there and then there are some not so reputable shops ...well actaully we've heard the word "nightmare" :rofl1:

Anway so glad you joined and hope you stay a while !!!!!

as far as the tops, they arent difficult one person could do it but it does take a few mins so if it looks like its gonna rain dont chance it especially here in FLA , RAIN DROPS OUT OF NOWHERE SOMETIMES EVEN WHEN ITS SHINING !!!!!

:welcome::welcome::welcome:Yea, the tops in my 84 are not too bad, if there is a second person around to help then I take it. I'd say 5 minutes to remove the bolts and store the roof.

Great Forum. Very nice people and lots of help with your questions.

I am not too far from you in the North East. I have a house in West Milford, N.J. and a house in New Smyrna Beach, Fl. We are going to hang in another three or four years before we sell and move full time to Florida.

I have an '06 convertible and can put the top up or down in a minute or two. You can also get C6's with a power top.

Good luck in your search.

:welcome: Welcome!

I have a 07 Coupe.
:dancer01:Only takes a minute to remove and store in the back and less to reinstall. Throw three latches and it's released.:yesnod: No tools, No trouble!:dancer01:

finally made it....

well as in previous posts i was trying to sell my home in florida, N.Y.
I sold it in 30 days and moved to Fla. (riverview area) off big bend and 301...
As of now i am still unpacking boxes..:(
but it feels good to be here and as each day goes by i am looking for that special corvette for me!! seems i am looking at a coupe. hopefully in the 17-20k range low miles (of course) haha! and 2001-2004 seems to be the area i can get into a vette for, fixed income with retirement and not a daily driver but something dependable and can ride with the group. See ya later,,ryd :dancer01:

:welcome: to Florida. I would definitely hook up with Tampa Bay Vettes. They are very active and perhaps can help you in your search or at least keep you from buying a lemon or paying too much. Jim Kill is a very active member and would be a good place to start. Hope to see you around.:thumbsup:

thanks thor

thanks for the heads up thor, thats exactly what i need someone to watch my back and give me some hints on a good / bad buy..etc...talk with ya later..ryd.:)
