C5 Oil Bypass Valve Delete

Bottom line = keep the oil clean with consistent oil and filter changes.
The way he talks, either he will have a plugged oil filter with little or
no oil flow, or contaminated oil making it's way thru the whole engine.
Leave the bypass valve in and change oil more often, and if you suspect
a faulty bypass valve, replace that sucker! Also maybe if you're that
concerned with the level of contamination in your oil, send a sample out
for analysis! Just my 2 cents ....................

Yeah, but how would you know when that bypass valve went faulty on you? Heck, if I go by mileage, I change the oil on the vettes way, WAY before the 3,000 mile mark. But as for time, well heck, sometimes time just gets away from me. Might seem like just last month that I changed the oil, but in reality a year or more might have passed by.

For instance, I just changed the oil in the C5Z the other day. According to the mileage, just 890 miles had elapsed since the last oil change. But as for the timespan, if I remember correctly from what I saw on my log page in the manual, it was a year and a half ago. Oil still looked very good coming out of the oil pan, and I am using full synthetic Joe Gibbs LS30, which is supposed to be pretty good stuff.
