OMG !!! I WOULD PASS OUT

Yeah, imagine walking face first into a web like that during a walk in the woods..... :hehehe:

Wonder how big that spider was. We have the wolf spiders and those brown ones that like to come indoors when it rains. But they don't usually have a legspan bigger than like 9". Think that it would have to be quite a bit bigger than that to eat a bird.

 Man! You have spiders THAT big around you? A nine inch leg span is pretty darn HUGE for a spider around this area.

Not sure what the official name is for them, but I call them "Banana spiders". They weave a gold or yellow web that could be used to slow down the space shuttle or as arresting cable on an aircraft carrier . When I was about 14, I was riding my horse with some friends. We decided to race and I was in front, running down a narrow, wooded road with a lot of overhanging branches. I would duck down when I came upon a low branch, then look back to see if they were catching me. I did that one to many times, turned to look ahead and....caught a big one right in the face! He splattered all over me! Plus that web....it was like wire! My buddys were dying laughing. I not really afraid of spiders, but that will be with me for the rest of my life!

Nasty looking critter, still think the camel spider looks worse. Either way, I have all sorts of armament to battle bugs. From hairspray flame throwers to firearms lol.

Yeah, we have a bunch of the banana spiders around here. But nothing even close to having a leg spread of nine inches! Hell, if they did, I'd be taking the 12 gauge to them. I'm not really the keen on spiders anyway, but one that could cover my face with the legs, well, they would HAVE to go......

Yea those brown ones are like 9 inches sometimes. Seems like we get one every year, ever since we moved to this house. I like my house a lot, but an all wood house is... well, not as bug-proof as a brick or cement block one. Now they usually like to float somewhere around 4 to 6 inches span I'd guess (the legs out to the side straight is how I'm measuring). It's freaky as **** when you get up at night to go to the bathroom and you stumble across one. Turn on the light and wonder why half the ceiling is brown.:hehehe:

I also happen to be lucky to live in a swamp, so there's no telling what might end up in the house. Those big dragonflies, big mosquitoes... could have swore that I saw a small alligator run behind the TV once, but I never found one running around the house so I guess I'm just getting paranoid. Made me make sure to not leave the sliding glass doors open ever again though.:hehehe:

Hey! It might not be so bad! At least you would KNOW when it jumped on you. Wouldn't want to take it for a ridein the Vette though. Looks big enough to TALK for cripes sake!
Andy :wavey:
