Shadow do you have any friends on the force in Jacksonville? I just found out my house there was broken into with the front door kicked in. All the valuables stolen. I know it was some one in the neighborhood propbable the house across the street. All thugs in the neighborhood always knocking on the door begging for work or asking for a handout, mostly sitting on the front porch selling drugs. Alll that did JSO was walk the neighborhood asking the same nggrs that did it if they know anything, instead of doing some real police work.

They will back in a month or two....they probably watch you leave & know when it is safe to do it again. Gotta figure a way to have it look like you left & wait w/Mr's Smith & Mr Wesson and see what happens. They will wait until it cools down so it won't be right away. Did you have an alarm system?

Yes but not active. I don't live there anymore, this happend to the tenant, but it still pssssss me off because I used to live there. If I did they would have meet MR. Colt.

I agree they will be back but trying to think how I could bait them and catch them in the act because JSO is useless. They can't solve a crime if someone came and bitch slapped them.

As far as them walking the neighborhood, I have to stick up for them there:thumbsup:

Even in a bad neighborhood (and I've been in some BAD ONES...you'll find good people.

I've had witnesses that would have never come forward on thier own out of fear, but when I knocked on thier door, even if they didn't tell me anything then, again, for fear of being seen talking to the POLICE, I'd get a call an hour later (less in some cases) telling me who did it and where they could be found!:dancer01::yesnod:

Sometimes it's a waste of time and just basically a bit of cardio, walking the 'hood, but ya 'gotta do it:thumbsup:

As far as the house, I'd reactivate the alarm and set up some cameras. Conceal them if you want to catch the perps, don't if you want to prevent the act.

A good, quality infra red (not low light!) camera on a 30+ day cycle, will get you the evidence you need for ID purposes.

Make sure it's internet capable so you can view it from any internet enabled computer:thumbsup:

Good advice on the internet camera, I didn't think of that before, but you are right the people that I thought did it. The ones who sit on the front porch every day with others coming and going all day long, were not involved. I found out today there was a witness, a boy across the street saw it and told the officers that two men pulled up in a car jumped out with ski masks on in the middle of the day. Was in the house in seconds and out within 5 min. The boy did not get a description but ID'd the car. I hope they catch them. My tenant is ready to move out.

I would appreciate if you have some recommendations on the camera equipment.

Glad to hear there was a witness. One thing about good old fashion police work, it never goes out of style:thumbsup:

Hope they catch the scum. Keep us posted.
 
The new security door is installed and the security company activated the monitoring today so all is well. No one got hurt so that is good.
