Yeah, I did that to my TB back when I put on the Shaner unit. Easy to do when the TB is off, but I doubt it would be much more difficult with it still on the manifold. Can't really say if it makes any difference or not, because there seems to be two sides to the coin.

On one side, yes the bypass would keep heated fluid from flowing through the throttle body (which really isn't necessary in Florida anyway), so the throttle body would be cooler. Theoretically, anyway. But on the other side of the coin, if the manifold and throttle body get hot from heat soak from the engine, perhaps the coolant WOULD cool the TB down somewhat. But perhaps the composite intake manifold prevents or at least limits heat soaking of the throttle body.... :shrug01:

Guess it would be interesting to see someone do a before and after comparison using one of those heat sensor guns on the throttle body....

Reason for the coolant through the TB per the old thread was to help the car drive and idle better in really cold weather and for faster cold weather startups..Well it doesn't get cold in TEXAS at all so I don;t need it...

Same would apply here, it being florida.
 
You can get the same part at Home Depot for about $2.

same here. I havent looked around much on my ls6 but on my l98 the only thing flowing coolant through the bottom of the tb did was heat up the throttle blades so they wouldnt stick shut or open at really cold temperatures... not really necessary in florida. yes, there is a difference in power to the wheels due to heat soak, but its quite small. i netted around 4 rwhp. yay. again that was on an l98 which is speed density but i wouldnt figure it would make a difference. hot air is hot air.
