I went to a car show a little while ago and was handed a free magazine. You know the type where car show dates are listed and local companies advertise their stuff. Anyway, as part of this mag, a couple of articles of interest were written. I read a short piece on Raymond Loewry. Reading this proved to me that I must be living under a rock, because as much as I hate to admit, I hadn't heard of the man. Turns out if anyone hasn't heard of him, his work is as much a part of our daily lives as apple pie or sliced bread.
Waaaaay too much is credited to him to list here, but his life and accomplishments are really worth a Google.
