Rear Spindle

In the process of restoring an 80 L82. Replaced all the bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints on the front. I had replaced the parking brake cables but could not adjust them. I had to order a new right rear shield as the original was worn. I removed the hub assembly from the car and tried to remove the spindle but, to no avail. I took the assembly to a local machine shop along with the spindle and new bearings, etc. He just called to say that he put 5 tons on it but could not remove the spindle. Any ideas?
