Remote CD 12 pack in back not working??

Just throwing this out to see if anyone has had the same problem. The remote cd player in the back compartment stopped working. I took out the cartridge to check he cd's and all looks normal. When I reinserted the cartridge and closed the slider door I could hear the unit making noise like it was loading a cd. I started the car and hit the cd tab on the radio and got an "ERR" on the display. Any hints to check out would be appreciated. Thanks, Phil
