security concerns

I got a call from a long time friend about a recent break-in into his garage, it seems that some thieves used a pry bar to force open his side garage door while he was out doing some shopping and walked off with his tool box and floor jack, and several other items in his garage, that will cost him several thousand dollars to replace
the sad part is that Ive told him several dozen times that he needed better doors, locks and an alarm, on the garage. and he has an alarm on his house.
look gentlemen, most of us have at least several thousand dollars in garage contents, so it makes sense to at least take minimal precautions.
yes it was probably neighborhood kids or someone he knows that knew where the tools were , but his chances of getting back everything he lost is obviously very low, and the aggravation is huge.
a loud alarm and an auto dial link that dials police would have helped surveillance cameras would be great, but simply having a solid metal door and door frame and decent locks and a fenced yard with obvious alarm stickers and other security might have prevented this.

Yeah, and if I might add, game cameras are a relatively inexpensive way to put in photo/video surveillance on your property. I have several and plan to buy more. The first one I had helped nab the guy who cut down and stole bamboo off of my property. Having a photo of the perpetrator is immeasurably helpful in getting the crime solved.

Barring that, pitfall traps, bear traps, and mines would certainly be helpful in providing a large measure of satisfaction in eliminating the culprit from trying the crime the second time, but for some reason the law frowns upon such things.

yeah its no fun any more simply because a few of the neighbors kids occasionally get their legs chopped off or heads blown off , is such a drag.....oh well I guess Im still restricted to feeding thieves I catch to the gators

LOL!

Yeah, that would make a GREAT sign to put on your property.

TRESPASSERS WILL BE CONVERTED INTO ALLIGATOR POOP.
