I had seen this mod a while back on the corvette forum and finally decided to take the plunge and go for it. Took all of about 45 minutes. It's more for looks than anything, but it also helps that it's a little more out of the way to get to the deck. I also find that it's more comfortable when driving, as I usually rest my hand on the shifter...you'd think I was driving a manual.
