• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

Some questions & observations.

Wassup!!!
:wavey: I've read a post or two (which I can't seem to find now) whereas some of you are members of several clubs. One person here is a member of four as I recall.
Question:1)how are you able to juggle more than one. 2) how do you decide which event to attend, provided that two or more clubs are having a function on the same day? 3) loyalty? 4) what's the furthest a member at anyone's club has to drive to attend their meetings? 5) do you have members in your club, that are from another county that has a Vette club, or is that taboo?

Observation: 1) Women in Vette's around here DON'T wave! Guess they're afraid they'll catch something. :hehehe:
2):mah: I see Vettes around here daily. Heck, there's a Vette club here in the Villages, 50 plus members and I have yet to see any of them on This forum or the CF. Not to mention anyone from this general area. Seems like the majority of members of this forum (atleast those that post) are down south?:nonod:

Either they aren't aware of forums like this one or they're too busy being RETIRED :drinking:  to be bothered.:lmao:
Maybe I need to post some sort of fliers at the local supermarkets to put the word out!!!

Ok, I'm done.

Maybe they are too busy waxing their Vettes!

I'm sure Rich is going to bring a bunch of fliers with him to the show. I want some to pass out too.

Personally, I'm not into the club thing. For one, I work completley different hours than most people. I don't want to rearrange my schedule to show up at meetings and what not. I already have to adjust for the shows. With my days off (when I have them), it's just not feasible. Plus, IMO, some clubs are like high school cliques. The Gearheads, The Waxers, The Gossipers and the people who get along with all of them.

I'm a member of only one club, Southwest Flordia Corvette Club. I think the member who drives the farthest is als2052. He must live 40-50 miles from our meeting place. I don't get to all the meetings and only a few of the events. In fact, I think I make as many club events as I do the online get togethers. Corvette Forum has the "misfits" who meet from time to time down here and we try to make those luncheons and get togethers when we can. And this forum had a poker run this past summer that was fun. We are friends with members of other clubs and many times go to their events. So, even if it's not our club we still get our dose of corvette fun.
AND, if you see this woman in her vette you will get a wave :wavey:

me again

Rich, can you bring enough for me to pass out as well?

Also (hijacking my own thread) how do you post a limited quote without quoting someones entire post? Still a Newb!

You can delete the content you don't want as long as you leave the [quotes] on both ends

So far in my time with the C5, I have only seen one other Vette wave. And that was a woman in a nassau blue coupe just like mine.

I did have a nice chat with a guy in a new Mustang as we were driving down 41. He said he liked his Mustang but was seriously considering a Vette.

The only other incident was sitting at a light and another Vette with a man and woman in it pulled up beside me. He was looking up and down my car. When he looked up to see me looking at him, I nodded and smiled. He just looked at me like I wasn't even there.

It's funny. I keep reading about "the wave". Apparently it hasn't been heard of this far south......

When my wife and I took our road trip To California and then back on hwy 50, we drove some 7k+ miles, taking us all of 3 weeks driving thru many States. I'm here to tell ya, the people North of lets say... Texas, are more inclined to NOT wave.
You can pretty much forget it if you head out West! We saw plenty of Vettes and were only waved back at a handful of times:nonod:
Seemed like eveyone was in a huge HURRY to get somewhere and didn't want to be bothered. That or there was an epidemic of Broken Arms we hadn't heard of.?
Anyway, when we got back into Florida, the :wavey: waves Miraculously Returned:wavey: One can say alot of negative things about FL, but when it comes to the wave we're TOPS! IMO:thumbsup:
