I saw this in the movies when it came out in early 1970s. I watched it the other night on TCM. It was better than I remember.

If you need a reminder of all "the little things" life has to offer, watch this movie - again, if you've already seen it. Personally, I never thought I needed to be reminded, and perhaps I did't, but I felt reminded nevertheless.

It would be an interesting exercise to make a comparative list of everything you could do when that book was written that is illegal or regulated today.
