sts turbo closed down

Aw rats... I guess I'm going to be screwed when those steel pipes rust through on the C5Z one of these days...

I've heard about people having turbo failures, presumably from the change in motor oil composition removing certain additives that used to be included in the past. Those turbos are spinning VERY fast, so without some heavy duty wear reduction additives, I can see where some people might have some problems. Catalytic converters be damned, I'd rather have the anti-wear additives.

But overall, I've been pleased with the customer service I have gotten over the years from STS. Hope I'll be able to find spare parts as I need them. I'm guessing the oil scavenge pump can be found as an off the shelf item somewhere if mine gives up the ghost some day. As for the turbos, no problem getting them elsewhere.

Russell Alexander Nope, Rick sold out a while back so he could build custom cars and do more hands on work. The guy who bough it just filed chapter 11 and Rick just purchased everything back from the bank and will be bring STS Back on line asap so keep an eye out there.

Hopefully that means that replacement parts will be available when needed....

Thanks for letting me know the latest developments.
