the real scoop on the bug repellent trick for headlights

Heck, I would have never thought to even use bug spray on plastic. From what I have seen many of the bug repellents and associated products will really screw up many plastic surfaces. I wouldn't even want it near any painted surfaces.
 
I ruined the plastic lens on my watch using Cutter bug spray when I worked Hurricane Charley in Sanibel and Captiva. It turned it white and foggy.
