Track Time

Have any of you all going to have any track time at either Daytona or Sebring. I know the Sebring club used to get a day I think it would be real cool to get a group of us together to drive our vettes on either or both of those tracks. :shrug01:

As long as they don't require me to buy a helmet, or anything else I would likely never use again, I may be interested.....

I would be interested but I seem to remember hearing somewhere that both tracks charge a pretty penny for their use.

Please post if you can get a few more details.

Hooked on Driving goes to both those tracks and also to Palm Beach and Homestead on a regular basis. Although Sebring and Daytona do charge a pretty penny, it is to the organizers and fortunately not to the drivers. A normal track day with Hooked on Driving is only $299 and includes a catered lunch. You will need a helmet any time you drive on a race track, but fortunately you can rent one from Hooked on Driving for the day for $20.
You can view the schedule and details here:

Rent a helmet? Sounds like an excellent way to pick up head lice...... :ack2:

Do they disinfect the helmets between users?

I don't know what part of town you've been hanging out at, but I can assure you that those type of drivers don't come to the Hooked on Driving events. :lmao:

Yes, Lysol is sprayed inside all the helmets at the end of the day. :)

Ever hear of wearing a head sock? that is also a precaution, but if you are really paranoid about it, then you should buy your own helmet. There are several stores where you can get a brand new helmet under $100.
I know you can afford it Rich.:icon_cheers:

Talk to anyone who cuts hair and see how smart it is to ignore this problem....

I found a head bucket you might not mind having wrapped around your head.

Chin Motorsports is also a fantastic group to run with. They too rent helmets...and yes they clean them after each use. A $20 head sock would be cheap protection and there is a vendor always setup at Sebring so you could just pick one up on race day.
