OK guys..........2000 coupe, auto, 45,000 miles.
3 or 4 times in the past week, I've felt a "chattering" when the trans shifts
under light load. No slippage noticed when starting out, either softly or hard
on it, and no chattering when it shifts under moderate to heavy load. It's
even chirped the tires going into second once during this time. I've noticed
that the trans temps have been below 210 degrees, and that was during daytime
around town driving. Steady 70 for 1 1/2 hours had the trans at 180 degrees.
Anybody know any common problems with this trans that would make it do this?
Who is good on these transmissions around the Clearwater area?
I'm open to suggesions, and really hate to have the trans rebuilt, but I need the
info to make good decisions. Whadda y'all think ?
Bought the car in 2006 with 33,000 on it, and don't know if the trans was ever serviced
before I got it or not. I haven't had it done since I've owned it.
