tri power verse fuel injection????

HELP! I found a guy in Jasper, Ga. that builds a great looking three duce set up for sbc's. The price is roughly $1100.00 He says he sets the jets to match the engine set up, adjust all three carbs, test runs them on a high performance engine in his shop, and basically "promises" all you need to do is "bolt it on and go." My sons seem to think that even though this guy claims all of this, the 3 x 2 will be a pain to keep running, to keep adjusted, and if a carb goes bad, it would be a nightmare to change it out and re-adjust. They think fuel injection is the way to go. Problem is of course, the cost is closer to $1700.00 or more, and you lose the look of the 3 x 2's. Has anyone ever put 3 x 2's on their vette, and was it the pain they believe it could be? I'm also putting a 700r4 in the car, does that matter in either case? Thanks

It's hard to beat today's fuel injection but it isn't a piece of cake to set up either.

I had a set of Weber DCOEs on a C3 and once I got them set up, tuned and balanced they were great. The 3 X2 setup can't be any harder to set up than the Webers.

I think you will be satisfied with either one. Being an "older" Vette owner I like the looks of the 3 X 2 setup.

One thing that would concern me is the "test runs them on a high performance engine in his shop" part. Carbs need to be tuned to each individual engine. When you put a new carb on an engine you still have to adjust the air/fuel mixture. And most of our cars need to be set up to run at like, 8 feet above sea level? What's the elevation at Jasper, Georgia? If you're not capable of doing that with the tri-carb setup, you might be disappointed. Then again, a capable high performance shop with a dyno like AntiVenom could probably make that setup scream. Maybe Greg could offer some insight, not sure if he even works with carbs though. Chevrolet hasn't put one in a car since 1984 if I'm not mistaken, so many shops may not be capable of working on them. You may need a different cam to reap all the benefits though. They would look awesome though, and properly tuned.........hmmmm!
