Today, while taking care of some bidniz, I had the opportunity to run into an 18 year old male in a not so good part of town.
First glance, long greasy hair, redneck baseball cap on backward, dirty, baggy jeans, and a KISS T-shirt.
We get to talking while I'm waiting for this joker to return.
Seems a
TPD officer was shot twice on Friday the 11th while assisting a bailbonds man with a recovery. The officer was shot once in the face and once in the shoulder with a .44 handgun at rather close range.
Here's a link to the story:

What the story doesn't mention is this.
The kid and his step father were preparing thier gear to go fishing (about 6am) when they heard a woman scream. They thought something was happening at the nearby bus stop and ran over to look?
They instead see the officer staggering backward down the street, weapon drawn and aimed at the attacker, and in pretty bad shape
As he approaches thier position, they grab him and drag him to cover.
They move the officer again to a better position of cover, the only thing they had available. A Jeep, another large truck and an oak tree.
They figure at least this might slow the incomming rounds down a bit.
See,
I failed to mention that the azzhat that shot the cop, was in the road, walking toward them and still firing!!!
The back up officer was fighting with the wife who had provided a distraction to allow her b-friend/hubby/rent a dick or WTF ever he was to load his weapon and come out firing!!!
The only other person there was the POS bondsman, armed with his trusty cannister of PEPPER SPRAY???
Anyway, this maggot hears the responding units and retreats back inside the house where, after a short standoff, he blows what little brains he has out onto the wall
Only down side to this natural order of things is that he did it in front of the wife, mother and kids. I don't care a dime about mom and the wife, since they had been living high on the hog off the proceeds of his criminal endeavors for God knows how long? But the kids don't deserve to see that...any of it
They can't help it that daddy is a maggot
I didn't get any pics of the kid, but believe me when I tell you that if you saw him walking through a residential area, fellow LEO's would probably stop and havbe a talk with him.
You just never know where your guardian angel will come from
I hope he and his step father are awarded the medal for bravery/heroism/valor or what ever TPD calls it!!! They certainly deserve it.
BTW, the maggot had a history of violence and CCW.
