Whats the point of college again?

Sucks being laid off and having a very expensive piece of paper, in a market that is supposed to be booming. Let alone finding a decent paying job anywhere else. Anyone know of other job places besides indeed.com, monster, careerbuilder... ?

Most industry trade organizations have their own for instance I am an engineer so engineerjobs.com is an example

also government jobs are at usajobs.com and state at peoplefirst.com

Believe it or not, craigslist seems to work well. I've found a couple of good employees there.

Many moons ago when I got out of college, I used an employment service and it worked out well.

Hi Corey. If you have an entrepreneur state of mind, then start your own business in something you really are wild about. That way it won't be a job and you'll be excited about what you are building. Just a humble thought for you my friend.

I would have to agree with Mark.

It takes balls and a lot of willpower to survive the first few years, but if it works out, it's worth it.

If it doesn't, you can always say you tried:thumbsup:

Working for someone else, although most of us do most of our lives, leaves you at the mercy of the employer.

Some employers will do everything they can include cut thier own salaries, to keep the employees in a pay check.

Others will dump employees first to survive:(

Unfortunatly, you in a tough market at present and all the .net headhunters seem to have a glut of applicants.

Hang in there brother, it'll get better:thumbsup::thumbsup:

How about theladders.com, job.com, simplyhired.com, snagajob.com, usajobs.gov, hotjobs.yahoo.com/jobs.

Best of luck.

WTF is college for?

College, is to learn, to party hard, meet future friends and try to learn about your possible future.
After that, party time, again.
As a retired civil engineer, I found that at times, things get slow, in any field.
Back in the mid 70s, in NJ, things got real bad in my field. After 6 months of no work and no money left, I bought a business, then a second one, then a third one. I retired at age 44, upon selling those units.
I bought gas stations and got hit with the gas shortage. Made a million dollard in two years and said, that's enough.
If you got balls, there is nothing you can't do. Not working, is not your fault, it's the times. Find something anything to put food and shelter around you.
Sometimes, street smarts are better than a formal education.
Good luck.
