Wheel Width ??

:shrug01: I have a '93 Convertible that came with 17 X 8 1/2 front and 17 X 9 1/2 rear rims. I have found a set of 17 X 9 1/2 front and 17 X 11 rear rims. Has anyone run the wider rims? Will they work or will I have problems with the wider width?

Steve i don't own a C4 but on my c5 as long as the offset is right it should be no problem:thumbsup:

:rofl1: Funny you should suggest Tire Rack. I ordered the tires from them and the wheels from O. E. Wheel Distributors last night. Both companies were sure that with the propper off-set that there would be no problem.
I should have everything by Monday or Tuesday and will place a post with the results.

It depends on the off-set. There are 2 different off-sets offered in the 17x11 inch rims. One is for the ZR1 which was 36mm, and the other were for the GS which came with a 50m. On your car the 50mm off-set is the rim you need because the 36mm will stick out too far. Even with the 50mm the tread will protrude out of the side just a little, Chevy took care of this by adding a wheel flare that can be purchased and installed. Go ever to the Grand Sport Registry and check out pics of a GS and you can see the wheel flare that was added to GS'

Got my rims and tires on. The 11x17 with a 50mm off-set on the rear is perfect. With the 315.35.17 tires they come flush with the side of the car.
I used 9.5x17 on the front and they too look great.
