where can I locate Methonal down here?

Worked on the car a bit today and noticed it was out of methonal I run a alky meth kit on the car was installed at ECS. Being new down here I have no idea where to locate the meth for it anyone have any ideas?

Wow meth kit! I have thought about that for doing a build on an SC LS7 short bed truck if Rich decides to sell the cursed beast, or a TT 426 HEMI Challanger. What kind of compression and setup are you running that needs meth or are you just trying to keep engine temps and detonation down?
 
compression is stock the pistons are stock But I had a blower cam package done to it and at the time they added the alky meth kit this I pulled off their web site:

"The Alky injection system is designed to keep Forced Induction engines safer at the point where boost is introduced. The Alky system effectively prevents cylinder detonation which is the primary cause of piston damage or engine failure with these engines."

I have a stage II procharger that has been upgraded by ProCharger ( free cause I let them use my car as a display vehicle) its running at 9 psi with 60 lb fuel injectors. I have 525 rwhp which they tuned "lightly" ( could have gotten a lot more power out of it) But because of my high mileage they kept it low.
 
Cool! I have thought about doing something like that. I am going to keep it stock for now. I may do something later or to a different car.
 
Do you also run and intercooler? I have read that with the combo of intercooling your FI with meth spray and the right tune you can turn the boost up. Then you only limiting factor is can the rotating assembly, clutch/trans, and rear end can handle the power.

We have duel innercoolers in the front fenders. Added the ProCharger at 160,000 miles everything was stock. Ran it with 7 psi it had 3.42's in it then We then change that to the 3.73's. We then took it to get the Blower cam package where they

Changed the pulley on the procharger to 9psi
added the alky meth kit which included the following

they also did a 5 point harness and rollcage in it as well.
but for you question yes all you need to do is change the pully :lmao:
 
Nice! Have you run any 1 mile top speed events or 1/4 mile. I would love to know what kind of time that speed machine can do. :thumbsup:
 
Only ever ran it in the 1/4 mile.
stock it ran 13.58 @ 103
Then with just the Procharger and gear change went up to 12.22 @ 107
after the blower cam/alky meth ls2 intake and tune (which they did lightly she has more in her lol)
Its now running at 10.58 seconds @ 127.00 MPH
Cant wait till I can get it to Gainesville.:thumbsup:That was the very first place we raced it years ago.. The corvette forum had a show/race thing going on down here were we raced at gainesville and showed the cars at Disney and the Racerock in Orlando.
If the engine ever decides to go I can just swap all my mods to the new engine :)
 
check gearhead performance in dunedin and clearwater.
as for alky/meth... alky control is the best. Hulio has great customer service and lives right here in the bay area.
 
There are Speed shops here in Orlando that have alky in 5 gal
cans. Kelleys is one shop on 17/92.
